Guide

Introduction

Trade predictions, stocks and crypto from shielded ZEC: each position opens from a brand-new wallet funded through NEAR Intents.

Your balance stays in Zcash's shielded pool between trades, in a real Zcash wallet that runs in your browser. When you open a position, Umbra Trade gives it a brand-new wallet, funds it through NEAR Intents with one standard amount at a random moment, and trades on the venue's own market. When you're done, the money comes home to a fresh shielded address.

A copy trader watching the venue finds a wallet with one funding, one position and no history, and nothing that links it to your other wallets or to you.

Your first trade

Make a private balance. Open umbra-trade.vercel.app/wallet, write down 24 words and check three of them. No account, no sign-up. → Getting started

Deposit ZEC from Zodl or any shielded wallet to the fresh address Umbra Trade shows. It shows up once it's mined and can fund a wallet after 10 confirmations, about 12–13 minutes.

Pick a market, say NVIDIA on Polymarket Perps. The ticket starts with the amount: $25 at 5× is a $125.00 position, 0.5877 NVDA at the price when this was captured, fee $0.05. → Trade

Fund a private wallet. With no ready wallet for that venue, the ticket says Fund a private wallet. Pick a standard size (0.05 ZEC by default); Umbra Trade derives a new key and, at a random moment 20 s to 3 min later, pays exactly that much from the shielded pool into NEAR Intents. On 2026-10-23 a dry quote for 0.05 ZEC, asked in confidential mode, came back at ≈ 61.43 USDC on Hyperliquid in about 8 minutes. → Private wallets

Trade. When the wallet is ready, place the order: it goes to the venue's real book, signed by that wallet's own key (on Polymarket Perps, by a short-lived key that wallet authorised).

See what a copy trader would see. "What the public sees" reads the wallet's activity live from the venue and checks it on your device against your other wallets: one funding, one position, no links.

Come home. Close the position, then Send home: the proceeds swap back to ZEC at a fresh shielded address.

Skip the wait

Turn on Keep one ready for a venue and, while the app is open, Umbra Trade funds a wallet there, then replaces each one you use after a random wait (90 minutes on average, at most 12 hours), so a later position needn't wait.

Where things stand

The app is live on Zcash mainnet at umbra-trade.vercel.app, with live data from every venue through the relay. The browser wallet's proofs and sends are verified on testnet; over Oblivious HTTP, Polymarket reads, a bridge quote, the builder signer and a confidential-mode NEAR quote are verified. The full round trip on mainnet (fund, trade, close, come home) has not run yet, so no live trade is claimed here. Verify it yourself lists the evidence.
